Tour de France Preview at Tazza D’Oro
Once again, Tazza D’Oro will be celebrating the Tour de France which begins on July 7th. We are so excited.
As a preview celebration of cycling please join us on July 3rd for the art opening at of “Art by Cyclists” hosted and sponsored by Urban Velo. The event will include some amazing food and beverage beginning at 6 pm. Jeff is always hanging out at Tazza D’Oro doing our graphics work so ask him about any details. Jeff- bike hat, cycling shoes, good-looking and apple computer. Can’t miss him.
Then on July 4th, Emily Jackson, a great Tazza D’Oro Barista will be hosting the Creamcycle. An Ice Cream themed scavenger hunt with prizes. Registration at 2pm at Friendship Park between Matilida and Millvale Streets in Friendship. There is a 5 dollar registration fee. This should be really fun. Don’t let the “race” thing scare you away. It’s all about having fun and riding the streets of Pittsburgh.
Stay tuned for many other July events celebrating the Tour de France – coffee/espresso tastings, wine tastings and foods from regions of France.
We’ll be closed for a few days
Tazza D’Oro will be closed beginning 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 24th through Wednesday, June 27th. We will resume our normal business hours beginning on Thursday, June 28th.
We will be painting, cleaning and moving a few things around so that we can continue to make the space comfortable for our customers. We appreciate your patience.
During our breaks we will be doing a few of our coffees outside using a French Press. Please stop and join us.
Tazza D’Oro Volleyball Game
On Wednesday, June 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm this is where it will be happening – our annual sporting and anniversay event. For our 8th year in business celebration (yea, I can’t believe it either) we will be playing volleyball at the Stanton Ave courts near the swimming pool. After the game, please join us back at Tazza D’Oro for a cookout and the telling of our favorite stories of the last 8 years! I know Tune and Tone have their game faces on.
Hope to see you on Wednesday.
Local Music: Soma Mestizo’s Telomere
This weekend brings the long-awaited CD release from Soma Mestizo. The innovative local group describe their sound as “deep, dark, sexy, global-genre busting, booty-shaking, head-filling magic music.”
They are celebrating with concerts all weekend long as part of the 4th River Project of the Three Rivers Arts Festival. Staycee Pearl (the graphic designer of this very website!) choreographed dances for the performance.
We hope you get to see them! The shows are at 7.30pm and 10pm on Friday (tonight!) and Saturday, and 7.30pm on Sunday. The venue is 121 7th Street Downtown, 6th Floor. Admission is $5.
