Gathering around…the coffee

Written by Amy

Whoa…what an amazing turnout and cupping!  This evening two of our baristas, Morgan and Brandon hosted a public cupping at tazza doro in Highland Park.

I had the chance to hang back, watch and let the “real experts” lead!   (thanks to all baristas who showed to helped out and participate)  Morgan and Brandon choose four of our single origin coffees focusing on in-season coffees, processing methods and just some of our favorites and my favorite – Guatemala Huehuetenango.  I would be happy to drink this single origin coffee for the rest of my life – it’s pure mouth/taste joy!

Perfect evening for an outdoor cupping with perfect seasonal coffees.  And as an observer tonight, I was reminded of our pure passion…yes it’s about the coffee for us –  but it’s also really about the hope, possibility, commonality and opportunity for all of us to gather and connect around the coffee!  Our turnout was so amazing, including all our customers who made it over from our CMU location, we added a second cupping table.  Too bad my pics don’t capture the whole group and the amazing energy of the evening.   At the end of the cupping, two of the crowd’s favorites were prepared either in a Chemex or French Press.

COFFEE, I love you!
